They're changing how you use your phone and put dinner on the table. They're making it easier for companies to transport products, find employees, or even get out of town for a business meeting. Here, meet the companies topping this year's Inc. 5000, a list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S.
10. The Garrett Companies
2018 Inc. 5000 rank No. 10 Three-year growth 14,822% 2017 revenue $82M
Based in Greenwood, Indiana, this three-time Inc. 5000 honoree builds multifamily housing developments. It has completed 46 projects in 14 states and delivered more than 10,000 apartment buildings since it was founded in 2014. The company, led by founder Eric Garrett, has 47 employees, up from just six in 2014.

In 2007, CEO Kevin Lustig co-founded this online marketplacewhere pharmaceutical and biotech companies can outsource research projects. In three years, the Solana Beach, California-based company grew its staff from eight to 49 employees. This is its second time on the Inc. 5000.

This five-year-old logistics startup helps companies like Warby Parker and Bridgestone ship goods and products worldwide via air, land, or sea, while also providing insurance and assistance with customs forms and procedures. The San Francisco-based freight company, founded by CEO Ryan Petersen, grew to 532 employees in 2017, up from 26 in 2014.

This staffing company has been tapping top talent to fill positions in the pharmaceutical and medical industry since 2013. Led by founder and CEO Mark Gallagher, the Chicago-based business added 10 new employees since 2014, bringing its total headcount to 13 in 2017. It means that in 2017, each employee fetched more than $1.3 million for the company.

Headquartered in Milton, Wisconsin, the company buys outdated Apple equipment from schools or other businesses, refurbishes it, and then sells it through various distributors in the U.S. Its team of 60 employees will also advise customers on how to maximize buy-back value from future purchases. The business is led by Mike McKenna and was acquired by Pfingsten Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, in January this year.

The Kennesaw, Georgia-based aviation broker offers private-jet trips around the world, promising to fulfill all your travel needs 24 hours a day, every day. Private-plane operators list their aircraft on Aeronux's online site and pay the company a 20 percent cut for every flight they book. It was co-founded in 2012 by Iranian immigrant Kambiz Khadem.

Founded in 2013, the Scottsdale, Arizona-based business partners with utilities, independent power producers, and construction companies to promote solar energy projects. Led by founder Jim Lamon, Depcom provides engineering assistance, as well as operations, procurement, and construction services for a turnkey experience. In 2017, it increased its team to more than 100 employees, up from 27 in 2014.

Founder and CEO Ben Wright aims to help businesses expand overseas with his Denver-based professional employer organization. The four-year-old startup grew its team from one to 55 people in three years, and currently offers support in 187 countries.

Pat Vihtelic started his meal-kit delivery service in 2013. The Chicago-based startup partners with professional chefs to create quick and easy-to-follow recipes--like sesame chicken salad--and delivers all required ingredients in pre-portioned packets directly to your door. Kroger acquired the company for $200 million in May and it will start selling standalone meal kits in selected stores.

David Barnett, a former philosopher professor, came up with the idea for this collapsible phone grip in 2010 to keep his headphones untangled. After a hit Kickstarter campaign in 2012--and several product iterations--the Boulder, Colorado-based business started selling its now ubiquitous smartphone accessory in 2014. Since then, the company has hired more than 100 employees and sold over 40 million units worldwide.

After debuting on the Inc. 5000 last year at No. 55, this shipping software company takes the crown in 2018. Founded in 2013, the Madison, Wisconsin-based company provides freight audits and uses blockchain technology to improve inventory management. CEO Brad Hollister has grown his team more than tenfold in the past three years, from four to 49 employees in 2017.
